Convention Committee Announces

2018 Event Speakers

NYSADA is pleased to announce its schedule of speakers for our 95th Annual Convention and Business Meeting to be held on beautiful Grand Cayman Island. Join your fellow dealers November 12th-16th, at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton resort. This year’s meeting promises to be the best yet for our dealers and their families! Our exciting line-up of speakers includes:

Bob Carter Executive Vice President of Sales for Toyota Motor North America, President of Toyota Motor Sales and Executive General Manager of Toyota Motor Company. Carter is responsible for sales, marketing, distribution, and customer service for the Toyota and Lexus brands in North America. He served previously as Senior Vice President of Automotive Operations for Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A. Inc., where he was responsible for the Toyota division, the Lexus division, sales administration, Toyota Logistics Services, Toyota Motor   de Mexico, and Toyota de Puerto Rico. Bob is especially looking forward to seing all of his New York State Toyota and Lexus dealer friends in Grand Cayman.

Wesley Lutz 2018 Chairman of the National Automobile Dealers Association and President of Extreme Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep, RAM Inc. in Jackson, Michigan. Lutz has been a Chrysler dealer since 1976 and represents Michigan’s franchised new-car dealers on it’s Board of Directors. He previously served on the NADA board from 2001 to 2004 and won Time’s Dealer of the Year Award for Michigan in 2009.




Tim Fortune
NADA Dealership Management Consultant. With 25 plus years of auto-industry experience, Tim has been involved in all aspects of automotive retail, from sales to vice president and operator. His expertise is in new and used cars, finance, franchise buy-sells, training and marketing with an extensive understanding of dealership technologies and computer software. His franchise expertise includes FCA, Ford, General Motors, Hyundai, Mazda, Lotus, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Volkswagen.


Tim Zierden is the vice president of Strategic Accounts for Cox Automotive, Tim Zierden brings more than 20 years’ experience from both the wholesale and retail automotive sectors. Tim began his career in automotive as a founding associate of CarMax, where he spent a decade opening stores across the East Coast and the South. During that time, Tim played a key role in defining the sales and merchandising models that are still used by the company today.  In his role at Cox Automotive, Tim harnesses the power of the industry’s strongest family of more than 25 brands that connect the automotive ecosystem to evolve the dealership partnership model and deliver superior experiences to our clients.

Dr. Suzanne Miller is a principal in Citrin Cooperman’s Rhode Island office and an active member of the Cybersecurity Practice within Technology and Risk Advisory Consulting. Suzanne has 25 years of experience in information security and regulatory compliance, she has helped clients align their IT governance, risk management and compliance activities: specifically in identifying and mitigating controls for regulatory compliance such as PCI, SOX, HIPAA/HITECH, CUI, and GLBA.


Industry Expert Panel Discussion Featuring…

Larry Anito A Partner at the law firm Degraff, Foy and Kunz, LLP concentrating in areas of automobile, business and real estate law. Larry serves as General Counsel to NYSADA.






Leonard Bellavia
is a Senior Partner at the law firm Bellavia, Blatt & Crossett, PC and nationally recognized authority in the field of automotive franchise law. Leonard has achieved national recognition for advocating the mass action litigation model on behalf of franchised automobile dealers and has implemented this strategy in several landmark cases. He currently serves as an outside counsel to NYSADA.



Hermes Fernandez
is a member of the 230 attorney firm Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC where he has practiced law for over 25 years. For the last 15 years Hermes has represented NYSADA before State Government and represented dealers in administrative matters before the DMV, in lemon law arbitrations, in audit matters and in government investigations.




Robert Brown
is a Partner with the Withum Group, possessing over 25 years of public accounting experience. Robert is a licensed certified public accountant in the states of New York, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His background has been with privately-held businesses in the automotive, real estate and entertainment sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Robert was a partner of The Mironov Group, which joined with Withum in January 2016.
